A Visit to the Gargash Peak & Construction Site of the Iranian National Observatory

On Thursday September 5th, 2013 School of astronomy at the Institute for Research in Fundamental Sciences (IPM) and Iranian National Observatory Project (INO) held the first group visit to the construction site of the Iranian National Observatory. Scientists and managers from IPM, INO and other Universities took part in this visit.

Part of road to the 3600 meters peak of Gargash was fully operational and visitors were driven to the mountain top. At the main site, INO managers briefed the visitors on the site selection and the general progress and challengers of the project.

A visit to the INO office and observational facilities installed at the nearby Kamu village was also a part of this one day program.
