Abstract:
Having any knowledge about
the velocity dispersion of dwarf galaxies
enables us to know more about their matter
content. The main goal is to find any relation
between the matter content and the luminosity of
dwarf galaxies. The mass of these galaxies could
be read from the velocity dispersion of their
stars. The luminosity of these galaxies come
from the photometric data and the velocity
dispersion is well estimated using spectroscopic
data. We are using Deimos red arm spectra
including very deep Calcium triplet absorption
lines. In this talk, the methods of measuring
the velocity dispersion from the broadening of
these lines will be discussed
